Grace Church Community Center, Inc. (GCCC) celebrated its 30th Anniversary Celebration on May 14, 2009 at The Ritz-Carlton Westchester in
White Plains, NY. The evening was dedicated to honor and pay tribute to those who have played an instrumental role in shaping the 30-year history of GCCC and to those who have helped lay the foundation for a future of continued service to our neighbors.
For the past thirty years, the staff of Grace Church Community Center, Inc. supported by the Board of Directors, volunteers and donors throughout the community have tirelessly worked to feed, house and serve our most vulnerable neighbors by providing stable, nurturing environments where individuals can find the guidance and support they need to lead more independent, productive and healthy lives.
From its roots as a mission outreach program of Grace Episcopal Church, Grace Church Community Center, Inc. has grown to become a county-wide agency with a dedicated staff of over 160 that annually assist 3,000 men, women and children. Last year alone, Grace Church Community Center served 95,000 meals to the hungry and provided 22,000 nights of shelter to the homeless along with a host of other services through its nine programs.
“I am continually inspired by the passion demonstrated by our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, government officials and generous donors, all of whom have helped us carry out our mission of serving the poor and underserved of our community, “ said Paul Anderson-Winchell, Executive Director of GCCC.
“Our successes are a result of a vigorous coordination and collaboration between our various programs, other service providers and our volunteers and donors,” said Ken Berman, President of the Board of Directors and Senior Vice President of Stifel Nicolaus in White Plains, NY. Further, “What has sustained us over three decades is the courage and resilience of the individuals we serve and the generosity of all those who support our mission,” said Berman.
