HOLIDAY MEALS AT GCCC
Each year GCCC invites needy men, women and families to join us for holiday meals at our Soup Kitchen. Meals are served by a host of volunteers who give up their own Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day to ensure that no one will go hungry on the holidays. Meals are served to 200-250 individuals who also receive a takeaway dinner to enjoy the following day. In addition, volunteers deliver approximately 300 meals to homebound individuals and families across the county. All in all, GCCC will provide more than 2,000 meals over the upcoming holiday season.
Prior to Thanksgiving, bags of groceries are also provided to local families from our Housing Services program who have family members living with HIV/AIDs and/or mental illness as well as to the families of children who participate in our After-School Mentoring Program. With the groceries provided, these families are able to prepare holiday meals in their own homes.
You can help us fill plates and bags by donating food or organizing a food drive. Following are the food items we need most this year.
Please contact Emily Gallagher at 914-949-3098 ext. 130 or egallagher@gcccares.org to arrange drop off or pick up. Thank you.
