December 2005

Lisa D’Angelo of Hitchcock Presbyterian Church in Scarsdale will be honored by the Grace Church Community Center (GCCC) at their “Event of Note” benefit concert to be held on December 3rd at the Performing Arts Center in Purchase.  The concert will feature the music of jazz great Jon Faddis and proceeds will support those served by the eight programs of the Center.

Ms. D’Angelo will be honored for her years of service as a volunteer and community member of the GCCC Board of Directors.  She has worked tirelessly as co-chair for numerous fundraising events, was responsible for initiating and hosting the first annual GCCC “Thank You Donors” event, and has been co-chair of the GCCC Development Committee for four years.

D’Angelo and her family have also been active members of Hitchcock Presbyterian Church for the past ten years where D’Angelo has served as Deacon, Vice-Moderator of the Presbyterian Women’s Group and created the Service Outreach Committee to increase the church’s hands-on involvement in the community.  It was through her involvement with the Service Outreach Committee that D’Angelo first began her work with GCCC.

D’Angelo’s other charitable activities have been through the White Plains Women’s Club where she recently stepped down as Chairperson of the Tax Committee and member of the Philanthropy Committee, and through  her work on the White Plains Library Steering Committee which raised over $1,000,000 for the new Children’s Library.

The GCCC  “Event of Note” benefit concert evening will begin with a pre-concert champagne reception, raffle and silent auction and will end with coffee and desserts.  Jon Faddis will be present to meet guests after the concert.

Tickets for the event are $100 and $200. Raffle tickets with a grand prize of $1,000 are also available.  Tickets can be purchased by calling Chris Meyer, Director of Development at (914) 949-3098 ext. 130 or by e-mailing christinemeyer@gracecommunitycenter.org
