Services & Programs Serve Thousands
In a community as prosperous as Westchester County it is difficult to believe that a need exists for social service agencies to support the poor, the hungry, and the homeless
or that some of the homeless are children. The truth is:
- There are approximately 1300 homeless individuals living in Westchester County
- 1 in 5 Westchester residents receive some kind of food assistance at some time in the year according to The Food Bank for Westchester, Inc.
- Westchester is ranked eighth in a list of least affordable metropolitan areas in the U.S. making it difficult for low-income individuals to find and keep housing
- Outside of New York City, Westchester has the highest rate of HIV/AIDS in New York State
Each year , GCCC assists over 3,000 individuals and provides almost 100,000 free meals throughits various programs.
Please visit the A Day at GCCC page for a real life overview of how our services can improve lives every day.
