Turkey Shoot-Out
The Scarsdale Golf Club donates half of the proceeds from their
annual Turkey Shoot-Out
Scarsdale, NY – November 22, 2008
The Scarsdale Golf Course hosted its Second Annual “Thanksgiving Turkey Shootout” on Saturday November 22nd to raise funds to support the Grace Church Community Center Soup Kitchen in White Plains and the Westchester Coalition for the Hungry and Homeless which provides funding for countywide food pantries and soup kitchens.
A field of 17 brave golfers played under sunny skies in 28 degree weather with a wind chill around 15 degrees.
Earnings from the tournament totaled $4,800 which was split between the two non-profit agencies. This tops last year’s contribution of $4,400.
The tournament featured an upside down competition format in which losers were required to write a check to charity.
